Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma.
Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinomas are minor salivary gland neoplasms with a predilection for intraoral sites. Women are affected twice as frequently as men, and generally present in the fifth to sixth decade of life with a painless ihaoral mass. The palatal mass is, on average, about 2 cm in greatest dimension. The tumors are submucosal, identified below an intact mucosa as a well-circumsc...
متن کاملRecurrent polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma manifesting as a sinonasal mass: a case report.
Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA) is a malignant neoplasm that tends to follow a benign clinical course. Recurrences are uncommon. We report a case of recurrent PLGA of the paranasal sinuses that manifested as a large mass that filled the entire nasal cavity and left maxillary sinus. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a recurrent PLGA of the paranasal sinuses.
متن کاملSinonasal Low-Grade Adenocarcinoma: Report of Three Cases with the Clinicopathologic and Immunohistochemical Findings
Low-grade adenocarcinomas that primarily arise within the sinonasal tract are uncommon tumors. We report here on three cases of primary sinonasal low-grade adenocarcinomas. The patients were 2 females and 1 male with ages of 48, 57 and 64, respectively. Microscopically, the tumors had a well developed tubulopapillary growth pattern that consisted of columnar or pseudostratified cells with eosin...
متن کاملAn unusual case of low-grade tubulopapillary adenocarcinoma of the sinonasal tract
BACKGROUND Low-grade papillary adenocarcinomas of the sinonasal tract are rare neoplasms. Over recent years, little doubt remains that this tumour represents a separate entity based on morphology, ultrastructural features and behaviour. We outline a case of this rare entity displaying a not hitherto described immunophenotype. CASE PRESENTATION A 32 year old man presented recurrent epistaxis w...
